New Amy Winehouse Album Announced

It was just a matter of time. Island Records has announced a posthumous album for late singer Amy Winehouse titled Lioness: Hidden Treasures.

The album will feature 12 previously unreleased tracks, including a brand new song, "Between the Cheats," a slower tempo version of her hit "Valerie" and "A Song For You,"  a cover she recorded back in 2009.

Amy´s fans have been eagerly anticipating new songs after her widely successfull Back to Black album.

Winehouse´s father released a statemente regarding this new material:

"It wasn't until I sat down with the rest of the family and listened to this album that I fully appreciated the breadth of Amy's talent. From jazz standards to hip-hop songs, it really took my breath away. I never realized what a true genius she was."

Madonna Album News and Super Bowl Performance

A lot of rumours are flying around these days about Madonna.

According to multiple sources the Queen of Pop has already completed 9 songs on her upcoming new studio album, a pop dance record which is being produced by William Orbit, Solveg and Benny Benassi.

The first single is a track called Give Me All Your Love, and will feature guest artists MIA and Nicky Minaj. The song will be performed live for the first time at the Superbowl  in Indianapolis on February 5, 2012 along with four of Madonna´s greatest hits. The album cover will be shot sometime before the end of the year.

Moreover, Madonna has penned and recorded a new ballad that may be included on the soundtrack of her upcoming movie, W.E. although it is not confirmed yet if it will be included on her next album as well.

As if that wasn´t enough, she has recently released a funny video with her daughter Lourdes where they both announce the search for the new face of their clothing line, Material Girl.  Check it out below!

"Beetlejuice" Sequel May Include Michael Keaton

The rumours are true. A Beetlejuice sequel is in the works after the first film became a hit 26 years ago.

When the project was confirmed as being in development a couple of months ago, the general concern was if the star of the original movie, Michael Keaton, would be reprising his role as the popular “freelance bio-exorcist”.

Just recently, the project’s scribers/producers David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith, have confirmed that they are writing the script with Michael Keaton in mind.

This is what they told EW:

“When Warner Bros. came to us about it, we said the only way we’d do it if we got Tim [Burton’s] blessing and involvement, and we got that, and the star of the movie has to be Michael Keaton as Beetlejuice, and it’s a true continuation 26 years later. Not just throwing him in as a cameo going, ‘Hey, it’s me. I endorse this movie.’ We’re not there yet [with Keaton] because we don’t have a film to present to him.”

If Keaton returns, it seems as if that this sequel might still have some life in it after all.

Westlife Confirm Split

Irish boyband Westlife announced their separation as a band through a statement released on Wednesday after 14 years together in the music business.

 The statement reads as follows:

After 14 years, 26 top ten hits including 14 number one singles, 11 top 5 albums, 7 of which hit the top spot and have collectively sold over 44 million copies around the world, 10 sell out tours and countless memories that we will forever cherish, we today announce our plan to go our separate ways after a greatest hits collection this Christmas and a farewell tour next year.
The decision is entirely amicable and after spending all of our adult life together so far, we want to have a well-earned break and look at new ventures.
We see the greatest hits collection and the farewell tour as the perfect way to celebrate our incredible career along with our fans. We are really looking forward to getting out on the tour and seeing our fans one last time.
Over the years Westlife has become so much more to us than just a band. Westlife are a family. We would like to thank our fans who have been with us on this amazing journey and are part of our family too.
We never imagined when we started out in 1998 that 14 years later we would still be recording, touring and having hits together. It has been a dream come true for all of us.

“In like a dream scenario, we had a song that I’d secretly kind of written to see if Rihanna would want to sing it. And then the rest of the band wanted to keep it, so we came up with the idea of asking her to sing it with us, and, to our great surprise, she said OK.”

First Watch: Love on Top - Beyoncé

Since the very first time we heard this track, we knew it was definitely single material.

Beyoncé has finally unveiled the music video for Love on Top, one of the standout songs from her latest album, 4.

Knowles herself has described what she wanted to accomplish with the video:

“I have worked very hard on this video, this song is special to me and I had an idea for the video based on some of my favorite male groups. I remember seeing videos from New Edition, The Jackson 5 and the Temptations, bands I love for their beautiful harmonies, and precise choreography and I always wanted to make a video and be part of a boy group myself. It was so much fun. I put my heart and soul into “Love On Top” and I hope you love it.”

Glee Recap: Asian F

Glee´s return to first season awesomeness continued with this week´s episode.

For once the attention turned to less featured characters such as Mike Chang (Harry Shum Jr), Mercedes (Amber Riley) or Emma (Jayma Mays) and it really worked. Add a little Britanny´s performance to the mix and you get an outstanding episode called Asian F.

We finally got to see some parenting aroung Mckinley high school! Yes, Mike Chang´s parents actually appear on this episode and not only do we get to know this character better, but he gets an entire song to SING by himself! Bonus points for that.

Speaking about parents, Will finds out Emma´s are the reason behind her obsessive-compulsive disorder after meeting them. Wemma fans surely found this episode satisfying as the couple seems to be going as stronger as ever.Plus, Will singing Fix You to his girlfriend doesn´t hurt one bit, does it?

However, the real shining star of this episode was without a doubt, Mercedes. Amber Riley sure knows how to deliver amazing songs without any apparent effort. Mercedes has been two years waiting for her moment and now it´s her time to shine... or maybe not? She decides she´s had enough of Rachel taking the spotlight from her which leads to one of the best Glee numbers EVER.

 To sum up:

The Best: Mike Chang carrying an entire storyline by himself and Mercedes being front and center for most of the episode. Plus, Jane Lynch hardly showed up. I guess Ryan Murphy finally realized that Sue doesn´t need to appear in every single episode repeating herself!

The Worst: Not enough Idina Menzel.

Quote to Remember: "You always zig when i think you´re about to zag and I just love that about you". (Blaine to Kurt)

Best Musical Number: The whole New Directions gang singing "It's All Over" from Dreamgirls.

The moment: Will trying to understand Emma´s coping mechanism while singing Coldplay´s Fix You to her.

What did you guys think of this week´s episode?
