Madonna Working With Diagram Of The Heart For New Album

Brace yourselves because the Queen of Pop is about to return! According to The Sun, Madonna is in the process of looking out for producers and collaborators for her next album and has chosen Diagram Of The Heart, a British band that mixes elements of pop with dance, as one of the potential candidates to create new music with her.

Lead singer Kye Sones confirmed the rumours via Twitter: "Was up all last night working on some beats for the queen. Have some nice ideas for her...."

He also thanked fans for their support and good wishes on this new collaboration: "Thanks for all ur Madge tweets. Can't say too much but thanks for all the love! Diagram"

At this point, very little is known about Madonna´s new record except that she is aiming for a return to her dance roots.

Her manager, Guy Oseary, tweeted some info regarding what direction she was going for: "most of the music madonna is liking for new album are from all unknown producers. from what she played me, the tracks sound amazing"

He also tweeted: "I've always wanted to a madonna unplugged, the new album will be quite the opposite of unplugged. I have one word for you: DANCE"

HBO Turns Down Diane Keaton´s "Tilda" Pilot

HBO has finally decided to pass on the pilot Tilda, despite all the previous buzz it generated and its high profile cast which included Diane Keaton, Ellen Page and Jason Patric.

The comedy told the story of a ruthless Hollywood blogger (Diane Keaton) who was said to be based on Deadline Hollywood blogger Nikki Finke.

The pilot seemed to be doomed since the beginning, as tensions on the set led to creator Cynthia Mort leaving the project early on.

In a statement, HBO stated: "HBO has decided not to move forward with Tilda. Despite everyone's best efforts ultimately this was not the right show for us at this time."

It is such a shame that the project did not work out for them. Watching Diane Keaton on our TV sets on a weekly basis would have definitely been worthwile.

What do you think? Are you sad to see HBO has pulled the plug on Tilda?

Michael Jackson´s Mother & Kids Appear On GMA

It´s been almost two years since Michael Jackson passed away, and both his mother Katherine Jackson and his kids are still dealing with grieve.

Good Morning America catched up with Prince, Paris and Blanket while they participated on a special event in order to help the homeless with the Heal The World Foundation just like their father did.

It´s so good to see the kids smiling and adjusting to life although one cannot help but wonder if Michael would have liked to see them so exposed to the public eye after all he went through to keep their privacy intact.

Glee Recap: Blame It On The Alcohol

After a two week hiatus (sorry for that) our Glee recap is back in full force so if you haven´t watched this week´s episode, Blame It On The Alcohol, I advise you to stop reading as of now. If you have seen it then I suggest you grab an aspirine cause it´s about to get dizzy...

This week´s episode features the kids of New Directions own musical version of alcohol awareness. Some might question whether Glee is the appropiate show to tap into such a serious issue as teenage alcoholism... not me. The Fox hit show has never been suited for young children and since its inception it has made reference to sex, bullying, drugs or unwanted teenage pregnancies. If you´re scared your children might see something inappropiate just switch the channel and watch something else!

Once again the episode had its moments but it was not great  We definitely have to congratulate Lea Michele on being such an incredibly funny actress as her portrayal of drunk Rachel Berry was absolutely some of the best comedy we´ve seen in the show for a while. Another stellar moment was Blaine and Rachel´s duet who displayed such tremendous chemistry not even alcohol could mess it up (seems that the writers finally came up with a perfect excuse to put these two in a room singing together!).

Kurt scenes with his dad were, once more, something to look forward to as it balanced the episode with some realism and relatable characters. The show could clearly use more of these two. I think it´s safe to say it is time for Kurt to return to Mckingley High.... and bring Blaine with him!

As far as the weaknesses of the show go, Mr Shue´s secondary storyline of him getting drunk and dealing with his personal life lacked substance and direction. Loss of realism seems to become an ongoing issue for Glee as some moments in this episode felt really difficult to digest, such as the kids being drunk while performing without getting expelled or Mr Schue drunk dialing Sue instead of Emma.

So, to sum it up:

The Best: Drunk Rachel at the party playing spin the bottle, kissing Blaine and choosing him as her new duet partner. The Grease reference with Sue and Becky over the intercom.

The Worst: Mr Schue and coach Bieste partying and getting drunk in the process.

Quote To Remember: "Kesha has been a cultural icon for weeks and I really want to do her music
justice" by Brittany.

Best Musical Number: Tik Tok by Brittany & the cast.

The Moment: Kurt speaking to his dad about whether it is appropiate to have sleepovers with a gay friend without asking for his permission.

What do you have to say about the episode? Stop spinning around ideas and express your thoughts in the comments!

Bill Murray Speaks About 'Ghostbusters 3'

Original Wonder Woman Actress Praises New Pilot

Lynda Carter, popular for starring as Wonder Woman in the 1970s TV show, has stated that she fully supports David E. Kelley´s new pilot starring Adrianne Palicki.

Carter spoke to the Baltimore Sun about the new incarnation of the series: "I think it is an amazing role to play. I know [Adrianne] is going to be really nervous about it, just because you would be. But I have a lot of confidence in David Kelley and what he's going to come up with. David Kelley's so talented, and that's really where it needs to be, is in the writing,"

She added: "I spoke with David yesterday, and he's really, really excited about it. The story needs to be retold, it needs to have a fresh look at it. It affected a lot of people. I think it's time; I think it's important to have it out there again."

What do you guys think? Is the world ready for a new Wonder Woman? Maybe Lynda Carter should make a cameo appearance if the show gets produced!

Gwen Stefani Gives Update On New No Doubt Album

Gwen Stefani has recently confirmed that the new studio album from No Doubt may take a while before it gets released.

Just last month, the band re-entered the studio to record some new music but they have now taken a break due to personal commitments.

The frontwoman told the Wall Street Journal: "We've been doing a record all year; ten songs have been recorded. When this [new collection for fashion label L.A.M.B.] is done I'll probably write a few more songs. I don't know when it'll come out, but you never know what can happen. My band takes a weird process as well. It takes so long. And all of them just had babies, so it'll be a while"

Are you sad that you have to wait a little longer to listen to No Doubt´s new album?

'Glee' Teams Up With Max Martin

Not long ago, Ryan Murphy announced his plans to feature some original songs on his hit show Glee.

More details have been made available about this, as we can already tell you that pop music mastermind Max Martin (responsible for hits from artist such as Britney Spears or Pink) has collaborated on a track called Loser Like Me which has been described as “energetic ensemble track.”

This new original track will be included on the upcoming album Glee: The Music, Volume 5, which will also feature an original ballad called Get It Right sung by Lea Michele.

These two new songs will of course feature on a future episode of Glee which is scheduled for Tuesday, March 15th on Fox.

This is definitely good news for Glee fans out there, specially considering that the last episodes of the show are lacking the good writing and originality it once had. Hopefully this original music will keep it fresh and new.

What do you guys think? Is this a good move for the show?

The Making of Michael Jackson´s Posthumous Album

The first Michael Jackson posthumous release, Michael, was unveiled to the world this past December. In this video, producers such as Teddy Riley, Akon or Lenny Kravitz tell us some inside info about their experience working with the king of pop and the creative process behind the album Michael.

It is a very interesting video except for the parts regarding the Cascio songs which I still feel lack authenticity.

Henry Cavill Covers Entertainment Weekly!

The new face of Superman, Henry Cavill, graces the cover of Entertainment Weekly on a special issue dedicated to the new generation of superheroes.

The magazine also deals with Cavill´s audition to portray the man of steel which involved the actor shooting a screen test wearing a replica of Christopher Reeve’s Superman suit.

Cavill recalls the feeling he had at the moment while an assistant helped him put on the Super-suit:  “All I could think was: Oh, god. They’re going to look at me and go ‘He’s not Superman. Not a chance.’ The actor inside me was going: You’re not ready! You’re not ready!”

Director, Zack Snyder, however saw something completely different: “He walked out, and no one laughed. Other actors put that suit on, and it’s a joke, even if they’re great actors. Henry put it on, and he exuded this kind of crazy-calm confidence that just made me go ‘Wow.’ Okay: This was Superman.’’

The new issue of Entertainment Weekly is out now. Do you feel Snyder made the right choice with Cavill?

First Watch: Hold It Against Me - Britney Spears

Britney Spears new video for her single Hold It Against Me has arrived! The music video has been directed by Jonas Akerlund who has previously worked with artists such as Madonna or Lady Gaga.

Personally, after weeks of speculation and teasers, the impression we get is that it is really well done but just not great. After all, where is the dancing we were promised? Special effects are cool and everything, but Britney´s real talent relies in her dancing and they should have focused on that.

Just like what happened with Gaga´s latest song, this is another example of how the hype around the video may turn against the artist. Overall, we still think she did a good job, just not excellent.

Click on the video above to watch!

New Scream 4 Poster Is Here

A new poster from Scream 4 has been unveiled and it is very reminiscent of another popular movie from the horror genre... any guesses?

Yes, it is pretty similar to the poster for Halloween, don´t you think? The Scream franchise is not short for referencing that movie in the past so it really comes as no surprise that they would pay homage to the classic John Carpenter horror film.

We are still waiting for a definite poster for Scream 4 which features the main cast. Stay tuned!

Adrianne Palicki Is The New Wonder Woman

According to TV Line, Actress Adrianne Palicki (Friday Night Lights) has been cast as Wonder Woman in David E. Kelley´s pilot that is being produced by NBC.

Best Grammy Awards Performances

Once again, the 2011 Grammy Awards held at the Staples Center left us with some of the best performances of todays most successful artists in the music industry. Radio Pop Action! has collected some of the most memorable ones in this post:

Among the best performances this year, the most theatrical one goes to Lady Gaga´s Born This Way with the singer being reborn out of a giant alien-like egg.

Bruno Mars proved to us once again that he is capable of doing absolutely anything musically by transforming his number one hit song, Grenade, into a 50´s pop tune or playing drums for fellow artist Janelle Monae.

Cee Lo Green stole the show with his performance of Forget You which featured the muppets as background singers and a duet with none other than Academy Award winner Gwyneth Paltrow.

Rapper Eminem and Rihanna teamed up once again to perform their smash hit Love The Way You Lie Part 2, joined by Dr Dre on stage and Maroon 5´s Adam Levine on the keys.

Perhaps the most emotional moment of the awards show was Aretha Franklin´s all star tribute featuring Jennifer Hudson, Christina Aguilera, Yolanda Adams, Florence Welch, Yolanda Adams & Martina Mcbride.

Michael Rosenbaum Returns To Smallville!

It has finally happened! After months of speculation and when all hope was almost gone, Michael Rosenbaun has confirmed to TV Line that he will be returning one last time as Lex Luthor for the series finale of Smallville.

“I’m delighted to return for the series finale,” he said. “I’m simply doing it for all of the fans out there who made Smallville the great success it is. I appreciate all of their passion, their relentlessness, and even their threats. Ha ha. I can’t wait to hug the old crew back in Vancouver one last time and see all of my old friends once again. Oh, and for Lex to become the bad-ass he’s destined to be.”

It is not a surprise how happy producers are with Rosenbaum´s return after he has eluded the show since he left at the end of season seven, in May 2008:

“It feels like the stars are aligning, literally. We couldn’t be more excited. And as far as the way he returns… there’ll be no doubt about how Lex becomes the great rival in Clark Kent’s life. He is the villain of the story.”

Are you happy that Rosenbaum has agreed to return to wrap up Smallville? Sound off in the comments!

Exclusive Interview: Jane Badler

Television in the 1980´s, seems almost impossible to conceive without having "V" in mind. The NBC miniseries created by Kenneth Johnson (and later turned into a regular TV series), shocked audiences all over the world when it premiered in 1983, becoming an instant success and remaining a cult classic until this day.

Jane Badler´s brilliant performance of evil reptilian Diana was astonishing and iconic, associating her with the franchise and the character forever. 27 years later, Radio Pop Action! exclusively speaks to the actress about her thoughts on the original miniseries, her music career and her recent return to the "V" world as Diana on ABC´s modern remake of the show.

Why do you believe "V" is still so popular after all these years?
In its time "V" was revolutionary for TV. It was scary , brilliantly directed and written. It was multi dimensional with political and social meanings. And of course there was the rat eating scene.

Do you still keep in touch with any of the castmembers of the original series?
Yes, I stay in touch with June chadwick. I have seen Faye (Grant) and Marc (Singer) as well.

How has television changed from your "V" days in the early 80´s as opposed to your experience with the new show?
In the 80's the acting style was slightly different. The airwaves were filled with soap operas. Big hair and shoulder pads. TV is much more naturalistic and reality TV has replaced soap operas. The audience is quite demanding with the world of internet. So this "V" is filled with fantastic special effects and more naturalistic acting!

We know that Marc Singer will also be making an appearance later on in the season of "V". Who else from the original show would you like to see if it gets renewed for a third season?
Would be great to see Robert Englund and Michael ironside.

Kenneth Johnson wrote a sequel for the original "V" called "V: The Second Generation". Have you read it?
 I have!!

Would you be open to reprising your role as Diana for a movie based on Kenneth Johnson´s novel "V: The Second Generation"?
Yes, I would love to work with Ken. He is a wonderful writer and director and, after all, he started everything "V"!!

You´ve got a new album coming out. What kind of music do you listen to?
My new album is called Tears Again, it is melodromatic pop with a bit of jazz and Grace jones thrown in. It can be listened to on itunes and my website www.janebadler.com. I love lots of music, good music is good music. The only thing I don´t listen to is heavy metal and electronic rave music. I particularly love soul and R&B.

Is there a dream project for you? Anything you would love to pursue in the near future...
I would love to sign with a European label and collaborate with a European producer. I would also love to tour Europe. Lastly, I would love to play a love interest for Roger Sterling on Mad Men.

If you had the chance to meet a younger version of yourself, what advice would you give her?
Enjoy it more and take advantage of every opportunity cause nothing lasts forever.

Catch Jane Badler on "V" every Tuesday at 9/8c on ABC.

Radio Pop Action! would like to give special thanks to Jane Badler for kindly taking the time of this interview.
